International Day of Peace, also known as Peace Day, is observed annually on September 21. Established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly, and was meant to be a day of global ceasefire and non-violence.

The intention of the International Day of Peace is to promote and encourage a global ceasefire and to foster an environment of peace and understanding across the world. It serves as a day for people to reflect on the importance of peace and to engage in activities that promote peace and harmony. Events and initiatives on this day aim to highlight and address various global issues, such as conflicts, human rights abuses, and social injustices, encouraging cooperative efforts to build a more peaceful world.
